I have been using the Freeletics apps on and off again for the last year. I was fortunate enough to get a free subscription to their 'coach' feature until the end of the year. So, I'm going to try and take advantage of that gift.
I know I have a few obstacles ahead of me that don't have anything to do with the workouts Freeletics tells me to do.
I'm almost sixty. Yes, folks, in 2018 I will turn 60 years old. I know, I can't believe it myself. But no matter how much I don't feel like 60, my body knows. And I have to watch that I listen to it when it says it has had enough.
Next, I'm currently living at an altitude of 7000' which affects how much oxygen is in the air which affects how a person exercises. I've been running and my gasping for air has gotten less. But lets see how that goes.
I also live in a remote rural town in Mongolia. Here is October 1st, and we've already had snow. Winters are long and very, very cold. So, I'll keep running as long as I can safely and will do all my bodyweight workouts inside my ger.
I don't have access to the Freeletics Nutrition app but I don't think it would matter much even if I did. My selection of food here is very limited. I have mutton and can buy chicken, but the only vegetables in the shops are onions, potatoes, cabbage and sometimes carrots. That's it. No fruit. So, my diet could be an issue too.
Not sure what to document for the beginning of this 'challenge' but my weight is about 89.2kg (197lbs) which is too high.
And I'll try to post every week updating my progress.
